WASHINGTON, DC—This year the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery is marking the 50th anniversary of John F. Kennedy’s presidential inauguration on Jan. 20, 1961. The special exhibit features several photographs and a full-length, abstract portrait painted by Elaine de Kooning. The installation will be on view through Jan. 8, 2012.
