NEW YORK—Employing vintage cans of eggnog and cooking oil, there is a mixed-media game of telephone underway at Charles Bank Gallery. The players are two wood heads (one tiny, the other huge) that are a part of an untitled work by Daniel Mort. Whatever the little one is saying, it appears to be blowing the big one’s mind. The fascinating sculpture is the centerpiece of Inglorious Materials, the gallery’s summer group show “that explores the artistic impulse to collage.” Five artists are featured in the exhibition which also includes several other works by Mort.
“Inglorious Materials” is on view from July 12 to Aug. 19, 2012.
