Dumbo Arts Festival: Suyeon Na Installation is Suspended Utopia

Brooklyn, NEW YORK—Suyeon Na describes utopia as an integration of an artist’s “past and present, as well as fantasy and reality.” Given this, the Brooklyn-based artist chose to represent this perfect place and state of being with illuminated architectural installations composed of delicate traditional Korean socks, symbols that represent her current urban dwelling and her cultural background.

Na’s work is on exhibit at 111 Front Street, a building that houses galleries and artist studios, as a part of this weekend’s Dumbo Arts Festival, which concludes today.
