According to the Chicago Business Journal, historic photos from the Ebony and Jet magazine archives are being sold to the public for the first time. Pursuing new revenue streams, Johnson Publishing, whose titles have chronicled African American life, history and culture since 1942, is offering a selection of 2,000 rare images of civil rights figures and entertainment luminaries on Art.com.
