On Trendsetting Westside, a Nod to Yesteryear

NEW YORK—On Sunday, while driving up the Westside Highway, I spotted this vintage hotel sign on an abandoned building at Barrow and West streets. Blocks from the Novogratz townhouse and surrounded by new glass condos and commercial buildings, this nod to early, likely hand-painted, graphic design stood out—a timeless treasure.
