WASHINGTON, DC—Referencing Harry Potter, Magritte’s “The Son of Man” and black dandyism, this intriguing black-and-white portrait can be found pasted up in several places around Washington. I spotted this one on an electrical box in Barracks Row near the Navy Yard.

Update: The wheat paste poster was created by artist Steve Cummings, who explored the significance of the image in an exhibit at the Anacostia Museum.
