At Gagosian Gallery, ‘Junction/Cycle’ by Richard Serra

NEW YORK—Two new, large-scale sculptures by Richard Serra are showing at the Gagosian Gallery. Composed of waterproof steel, you can disappear inside the warm rust-colored walls of “Junction/Cycle.” The installation is gracefully overwhelming—filling up the entire exhibit space. Gallery photos show that viewed from above the structure resembles a slightly askew, cursive “x,” but experienced on foot the seemingly simple structure creates an amazing, transporting experience. The exhibit opened on Sept. 14 and closes in a few days on Nov. 26, 2011.
