NEW YORK—I just saw “The Mountaintop” starring Samuel L. Jackson in his Broadway debut, and Angela Bassett. The two-person fictional play about Martin Luther King Jr.’s last night alive at the Lorraine Hotel in Memphis is written by Katori Hall and directed by Kenny Leon. Hall has penned a creative script, Jackson (the highest grossing film star ever) seems a natural on stage, but Bassett steals the show. The drama runs through Jan. 22, 2012.
