NEW YORK—John Grande’s paintings are interpreted from photographs and his Louis Vuitton work is so well-executed and realistic that it looks like it is a photograph. The canvas, “Transcendence Adorned,” is featured in the ‘Bling’ show at Jim Kempner Fine Art. Grande’s pairing of the smoky gray, pixie-haired beauty (the image appropriates a Cindy Sherman photograph created in the 1970s) and the luxury brand’s contemporary colorful logos is a compelling mash-up.

“Bling” runs from Feb. 9 to March 17, 2012.
