PHILADELPHIA—A celebration of Mexican life, “Fuego Nuevo (New Fire)” integrates symbols from Aztec and Mayan cultures with Philadelphia landmarks. Located at 223 West Girard Avenue, the top of the work extends beyond the facade of the building giving it a three-dimensional feel. Painted by Cesar Viveros with assistance from Gabrial Vidal in 2006, the mural is a part of the city’s Mural Arts Program.
