MAD Museum Showcasing Glass Works from Venice Biennales

NEW YORK—A series of innovative glass works on exhibit at the Museum of Arts and Design (MAD) includes creations by Baltimore bead artist Joyce Scott, designer Patricia Urquiola and conceptual artists Doug and Mike Starn. “Glasstress New York: New Art from the Venice Biennales” gathers an impressive group of international artists and designers who sculpted works in Murano glass at the studio of entrepreneur and mentor Adriano Berengo. Originally commissioned for the 2009 and 2011 Venice Biennales, the extraordinary glass sculpture demonstrate the vision of the artists and the diverse applications of the material.

The exhibit is on view at MAD from Feb. 14 to June 10, 2012.
