Powerful Lakota Portrait Rises High Above Mulberry Street

NEW YORK—After the Standing Rock Reservation in North Dakota contributed to Inside Out, the participatory project created by JR last year, the French artist began pasting up several their black-and-white portraits around New York to give the Native American Lakota group a platform and a voice. The most prominent mural overlooks The High Line, this one was spotted on a building at Mulberry and Prince Streets.
