Silver Spring, MARYLAND—A new work by Washington-area artist Martha Jackson-Jarvis is being installed at an apartment building under construction in Silver Spring. Jackson-Jarvis and her daughter were putting the finishing touches on the celestial tile mural over the holiday weekend. Called “Moon Dancing,” the installation features several textured spheres and is composed of tiny mosaic tiles that create subtle gradations of color. The Galaxy Apartments at 8025 13th Street are expected to be completed at the end of the year.
