ArtJamz: An Evening of Jazz and Painting at the Smithsonian

WASHINGTON, DC—Every third Thursday, the Smithsonian’s American Art Museum hosts a free live jazz concert in its airy Kogod Courtyard. Between the jazz musicians and the painters, it was a lively evening at the museum. The painters were participating in a pop-up session hosted by ArtJamz, whose motto is “unleash your inner artist.” Founded two years ago, the company encourages socialization and creativity through paint parties. For a fee, budding artists can visit the company’s Dupont Circle studio or attend one of its events at museums and retail venues where all the paint, brushes and other tools and accessories necessary to turn a canvas into a work of art are provided.
