‘reOrder’ Has Elegantly Transformed the Brooklyn Museum’s Great Hall

Brooklyn, NEW YORK—Enter the Great Hall of the Brooklyn Museum and an absolutely stunning installation greets you.

Visitors stand amazed and transfixed and the beauty, tranquility and innovation of “reOrder” an architectural environment by Situ Studio. Inspired by the columns of the 1893 building, a series of flexible canopies have transformed the space.

According to the exhibit copy, the studio “rearticulates the space through the lightweight and flexible language of fabric construction, building on the strategies developed in the textile industry for folding and gathering.”

The installation debuted on March 4, 2011 and concludes soon, on Jan. 15, 2012.
